York ROC, Yorkshire — East Coast Main Line
LNER Azumas, Hull Trains, Grand Central and freight on the East Coast Main Line, watched live from York's Rail Operating Centre in partnership with Network Rail.
Stream hosted by Railcam. Spotatrain links to the original feed and does not rebroadcast.
York is the heart of the East Coast Main Line and one of Britain's great junctions, where the ECML meets the TransPennine corridor and the Selby line. The Railcam camera is hosted at York Rail Operating Centre — one of fourteen Network Rail ROCs that signal and route Britain's railway — and operates in partnership with Network Rail. Expect a steady mix of LNER Azumas (Class 800/801), Hull Trains and Grand Central Class 802s, CrossCountry Voyagers, TransPennine Express Class 802/805 bi-modes, Northern Class 158/170, plus GBRf, DB Cargo and Freightliner traffic.
What to watch for
LNER Azuma sets at line speed, the distinctive Hull Trains and Grand Central liveries, freight on the slow lines, and the rare overhead-line maintenance trains that run when the ECML is otherwise quiet.
Best viewing times
Activity is essentially nonstop. LNER Azuma headways tighten in commuter peaks. Caledonian Sleeper passes through overnight. Freight runs heaviest at night and weekends.
