Prvé Mikulášske Expresy — Detská železnica Košice

Detská železnica Košice, the Košice Children's Railway, runs "Prvé Mikulášske Expresy" (the first Mikuláš Expresses) between Čermeľ station and Alpinka. The operator describes a ride with St. Nicholas, an angel and a devil in heated and open historic carriages, with Mikuláš gift bags, a performance by the folk group Pristaše, a mini disco, cycle draisines, a mini zoo, pony rides, and hot tea, coffee and punch.

The operator notes that the event is held outdoors in any weather and reserves the right to change the programme.

A ride of about 20 minutes each way from Čermeľ to Alpinka with St. Nicholas, an angel and a devil, heated and open historic carriages, and a programme at Alpinka with folk music, a mini disco, draisines, a mini zoo and pony rides. Each child gets free tea at Alpinka; hot drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are sold there. The Mikuláš gift bag is sold separately from the ticket.

Boarding at Čermeľ station; arrive at least 20 minutes before departure. Strollers cannot be taken on the day; carriers are recommended for small children. A limited number of blankets is available. There is a WC in the Čermeľ station building and a portable toilet at Alpinka. Parking at Čermeľ is limited: the operator suggests Potočná street and the area by the Lokomotíva stadium, or bus line 14, and asks visitors not to park in front of the station building. Children under 3 travel free without a seat.
