About this event

The Musée du Tram Vicinal in Thuin, run by the Association pour la Sauvegarde du Vicinal (ASVi), holds its traditional Nocturne on the last date of its season. The operator describes it as a magical evening that lets visitors discover the museum and its heritage under a different light: visitors board historic trams for a journey back in time, explore the museum and admire the trams in an atmosphere out of the ordinary.

The Nocturne is one of three special occasions on the museum's events page, with the Festival du tram in mid-August and the Journées du Patrimoine in September. The tram lines run to Biesme-sous-Thuin, to Lobbes Entreville and to Thuin Ville Basse. On the Biesme line a diesel railcar and a steam tram locomotive share the departures, and the operator's timetable poster marks which departures are steam.

The operator says the evening also tells visitors about the association that restores these witnesses of the past.

What to expect
