About this event

The Nederlandse Modelspoordagen (Dutch Model Railway Days) is a model railway fair held at De Broodfabriek, an events centre in former factory halls in Rijswijk, South Holland. The organiser describes it as the event that covers almost every facet of the model railway world: two days of model layouts, the newest model train trends, model trains and accessories for sale, and the chance to learn about the hobby.

The organiser gives its scale as two days, more than 8,500 visitors and more than 200 stands, and says it expects more than 40 participating parties with several Dutch premieres in its exhibition of layouts. An Experience Plein offers workshops and demonstrations all day. The Kinderplein, run by Railclub Utrecht, lets children play with toy trains and join workshops, and the mascot Bennie de Trein walks the show floor. A photo wall shows the work of a different well-known photographer each year, and the organiser has also offered a workshop on photographing a model railway, with a limited number of places.

The organiser says Rijswijk station is within walking distance of De Broodfabriek, and there are food and drink points on the show floor and at its Horeca Plaza.

What to expect

Model railway layouts, stands selling model trains and accessories, a workshop and demonstration square, a children's area with toy trains and workshops, a mascot walking the floor, a photo exhibition and food and drink points, as the organiser describes.
