About this event
The Parkeisenbahn Wuhlheide is a park railway in the Wuhlheide leisure park in eastern Berlin. In the weeks before Christmas it runs Nikolaus trips for families on separate days when regular tickets are not valid.
The Nikolaus joins the train and brings a surprise for the children. At the station of Eichgestell, next to the car park of the FEZ leisure centre, the operator sets up a punch and cocoa stand, a waffle stand, a drink stand, a grill stand and a garden railway layout.
Seats are reserved: every booking gets connected, numbered seats, and a reservation is mandatory for all Nikolaus trips. The operator says most of its work is done by volunteers.
What to expect
A train ride in which Saint Nicholas visits the children and hands out a gift. Children get a children's punch or hot cocoa, adults a mulled wine or other hot drink. The trip starts and ends at Bf. Eichgestell, and boarding is possible only there.
Practical info
Departure and return: Bf. Eichgestell (car park of the FEZ). Boarding is possible only at this station. A reservation is required for every Nikolaus trip, by the operator's online form, by phone or in person at the railway's main station. Regular tickets are not valid on these days. Children under 2 ride free without a gift or seat.
