We have not tested it ourselves: strengths and weaknesses below come from the tests cited.

Why Railfans Carry It

A railfan's phone doubles as camera, map, timetable app and train tracker, and a long day at one location can drain it. Anker's own figures for this model are 2.25 charges for an iPhone 12, 1.6 for a Galaxy S20 and 1.2 for an iPad mini 5, so a single pack refills a phone of that size more than twice during a day at a viewpoint or on a station platform. Anker also describes the unit as slim and light for its capacity, which matters when a charger rides in a camera bag or a jacket pocket.

In the Field

The unit has a power button and an LED indicator. Anker says its PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies deliver a charge of up to 2.4 A and do not support Qualcomm Quick Charge, so do not expect Quick Charge speeds. A trickle-charging mode, started by pressing the power button twice or holding it for 2 seconds until the LED turns green, is meant for low-power devices such as earphones and Bluetooth speakers. The page lists up to 15W of output on the USB-C port. Plan the cabling before you leave home: the page says the USB-C cable, the Lightning cable and an AC adapter are not included.

Who It’s For

Someone who wants a simple, no-frills charger for a phone, earphones or a Bluetooth speaker and does not need fast charging. It suits a first-time buyer who will bring their own USB-C or Lightning cable. It is not the right choice for anyone who wants Quick Charge speeds, and Anker says the two input ports may not be used at the same time.

Alternatives

Anker also lists a Nano Power Bank (10K) on the same page; check its listing for ports and cable details before choosing between the two.
