About this event

Steam, Steel, Road & Rail is a three-day celebration of railway, road and industrial heritage at the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway, run by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society. The headline attraction is a visit by A1 Class No. 60163 Tornado, which the operator describes as the first main-line steam locomotive to be built in Britain since the end of steam locomotive construction in the 1960s.

Tornado is at Bo'ness for all three days alongside other steam and diesel traction, giving visitors a journey on the historic railway with the locomotives and rolling stock in operation. Something different happens each day. The weekend includes special evening trains, a fish and chip train and a whisky train with a tasting of five single-cask whiskies, both booked in advance, and a classic cars and road vehicles display at Bo'ness Station.

The operator publishes an operating timetable for the weekend and warns that locomotive, rolling stock and service arrangements may change.
