About this event

The Cardiff Model Railway Exhibition is organised by some of the members of the OO Section of the Cardiff Model Engineering Society, the society behind the Heath Park Miniature Railway and Tramway in Cardiff. It is held at Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground, in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff.

The operator lists layouts in all major scales, demonstrators, traders and preservation societies, with hot and cold snacks and a hot meal option. Its exhibitors page names the layouts taking part, with the gauge and the builder of each, and a trade-stands page lists the traders. A prize draw is run alongside the show: draw tickets are sold at the show, at Lendons Model Shop and on Heath Park Miniature Railway open days, and every advance entry ticket includes one free draw ticket.

The operator suggests several ways to reach the ground: four pay-and-display car parks nearby, regular Cardiff Bus services along Cathedral Road, and walking routes from Cardiff Central and Cathays stations.

What to expect

Model railway layouts in a range of scales, demonstrators, trade stands and preservation societies, with refreshments and a prize draw. Children under 15 enter free with an adult; the operator says there are no concessions.
