Night Photo Parade (Nachtfotoparade) — IG Bw Dresden-Altstadt

The IG Bw Dresden-Altstadt e.V., which runs the Eisenbahnmuseum Dresden in the former Bahnbetriebswerk Dresden-Altstadt, holds a night photo parade for railway photographers at the turntable of the roundhouse (Haus 1) on the evening before its Dresden Steam Engine Festival and on the festival Saturday, each time from 19:00. The operator describes the different locomotives being presented on the turntable under special lighting and calls the parade the highlight for railway photographers; it lists the night photo parades among the festival's highlights every year.

In its festival programme the operator says a separate ticket is needed for the evening events, independent of the day tickets for the festival ground, and asks day visitors to leave the ground at 18:00 because the evening events start at 19:00 and need preparations.

An evening session around the turntable of roundhouse Haus 1, starting at 19:00, where the operator presents different locomotives in special lighting for railway photographers. It is held on the evening before the festival and on the festival Saturday.

S-Bahn line S3 to Dresden-Plauen is a 15-minute walk; bus line 61 stops at Zwickauer Straße. The operator says parking near the festival ground is very limited.
