About this event

Museiföreningen Munkedals Järnväg runs "Den lille jernvägen", a narrow-gauge heritage line in Munkedal, Bohuslän, that the association says is well over a hundred years old. Its Santa train, the Tomtetåget, runs by tradition on the first and second Advent, on Saturdays and Sundays.

The train goes between Åtorp and Tomtebo and back. The ticket is all-inclusive: it covers the ride, a lussekatt (saffron bun), a hot drink, a gingerbread cookie and mulled wine, and the operator adds sausage with bread and a small gift for every child who meets Santa.

Tickets are booked for a chosen date and departure in the association's web shop. After the last Santa train the association wrote that many passengers say Christmas begins with the Tomtetåget.
