About this event

The Piaseczyńsko-Grójecka Kolej Wąskotorowa runs a Mikołajki (Saint Nicholas) excursion from its Piaseczno Miasto station. A historic narrow-gauge train takes passengers through Tarczyn to the Runów tourist farmstead, with an experienced guide telling the history of the line on the way.

At Runów the operator describes a bonfire, a winter walk in the Runów forest and games on a clearing, and a meeting with Santa Claus, who, as the operator puts it, brings the presents by train. Before departure, visitors can look round the model railway at Piaseczno Miasto station.

The operator says the whole event, ride and picnic, lasts about three and a half hours. People who want to hand over a gift are asked to leave signed presents in the brown freight wagon at the end of the train before departure.

What to expect

About 3.5 hours including the ride and the picnic: a visit to the model railway at the station, a guided ride on the historic train via Tarczyn to Runów, a bonfire, a winter walk or games, and a meeting with Santa. The operator may shorten the trip because of the weather.
