Pumpkin Express — Skunk Train

The Skunk Train, run by Mendocino Railway, invites families to celebrate fall on its Pumpkin Express. The operator describes a round trip from Willits, California, into the heart of the redwoods to a pumpkin patch wonderland, with seasonal treats on board and adult beverages for the parents.

When the train reaches Crowley, passengers have the opportunity to walk the pumpkin patch, explore the nearby redwoods, take photos and choose their own pumpkin to bring back on the train. The operator lists several ways to ride: standard seats, VIP tickets with advanced boarding, priority concessions and a commemorative gift, a 21-and-over Presidential Class car called the Noyo with two cocktails and light bites, and cab rides with the engineer for ages 18 and up. Dog tickets are available.

The Noyo Presidential Class car is for ages 21 and over, with no dogs, and is available on select weekend departures. Dog tickets are sold separately.
