About this event

SUPERTRAIN is presented by the Calgary Model Railway Society, whose members share an interest in model railroading and want to show the hobby to the public. The society says the first show to use the name was held in 1995, and that SUPERTRAIN has become Canada's biggest annual train show. It moved to the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary after outgrowing its earlier venue.

The organizer lists operating model railroad layouts, displays, Lionel, Lego trains, Thomas and Friends, garden railroads, photo exhibits and vendors. The show collects non-perishable donations for the Calgary Food Bank.

The show is held on the ice surface of the Oval, reached by stairs from the atrium, with an elevator and a ramp for visitors with disabilities.
