About this event

The Train de l'Ardèche is the heritage railway of the Chemin de Fer du Vivarais, operating metre-gauge trains out of the station of Tournon / Saint-Jean-de-Muzols in the Ardèche. The Train du Père Noël is one of the operator's seasonal events, listed with its own page and its own ticket items.

The operator offers two unique dates for families or friends to join the search for Father Christmas. On board, the Christmas spirit comes with glittering decorations, music and surprises, and the long-awaited meeting with Father Christmas. Each traveller receives a mandarin and chocolate from the Cité du Chocolat Valrhona.

The trip is a return journey of 1 hour 30 minutes to Colombier-le-Vieux, with a 30-minute stop at the station of Colombier-le-Vieux / Saint-Barthélemy-le-Plain. Before departure or after the return, a food truck sells hot drinks, crepes and waffles.

Departure from the station "T. Saint Jean de Muzols", operator address 111 route du Grand Pont, 07300 Saint-Jean-de-Muzols (about 4 km from the centre of Tournon-sur-Rhône). The operator's FAQ says the station opens one hour before departure, advises arriving 45 minutes ahead, and says seats are not numbered. Advance booking is advised because places are limited; the operator takes no bookings by phone. All travellers need a valid ticket, even those who ride for free. Pushchairs and prams are not allowed in the passenger carriages, and the old carriages have three steps at boarding.
