We have not tested it ourselves: strengths and weaknesses below come from the tests cited.
Bachmann names the set after the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railroad and describes it as built to recreate the romance of the steam era. The locomotive is an 0-6-0 steam engine with tender, with working smoke and a working headlight, and it hauls a 50-foot plug-door box car, a 40-foot quad hopper, a single-dome tank car and an offset cupola caboose, so the consist covers three classic freight car types and a caboose. That separates it from the diesel sets in Bachmann's range, such as the Thoroughbred with an F7 and the Rail Chief with an EMD GP40. The lineside is included too: 48 railroad and street signs, 36 telephone poles and 48 assorted figures.
The layout side is complete: a 47-inch by 38-inch oval of snap-fit E-Z Track with 12 curved pieces, 1 straight piece and 1 plug-in terminal rerailer, plus a power pack and speed controller. Bachmann gives the product measurements as L 47 in., W 38 in., H 2.5 in. The scenery is two Plasticville U.S.A. kits, a suburban station and a signal bridge, and the page says both need assembly. The power supply is a US-style 110 volt unit, and the page says adapters or converters may be required for other countries. The page tags the set with a Standard DC icon. Bachmann's separate Getting Started page, which is not specific to this set, describes E-Z Track as snap-fit with pre-assembled roadbed and says that unless stated otherwise its models run on standard 12V DC power. The same page says all its models contain small parts that can be choking hazards, that standard-line models are for ages 14 and up, with younger children only under direct adult supervision, and that HO trains are for indoor use.
