About this event

The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad, a family-owned railroad based in Trego, Wisconsin, runs the Santa Pizza Train as a Christmas pizza party on rails. The operator describes it as a popular way to celebrate the season with kids, combining a pizza meal, a scenic train ride and a visit with Santa.

The ticket includes the two-hour train ride, a personal pizza and a first beverage, a visit with Santa in his private car with photo opportunities, and a holiday cookie with hot chocolate on the return trip. Each paying passenger chooses pepperoni, sausage, cheese or gluten-free pizza, cooked fresh on board, and a bottle of water or a soda.

Each family of up to six people gets a private dining compartment; larger groups are seated at adjacent tables in a traditional dining or lounge car. The railroad says all of its trains are round trips that return to the Trego depot and have restroom facilities.

The operator says the Santa Train consistently sells out very early.
