About this event
The Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, a not-for-profit volunteer-run charity near Blaenavon in south Wales, runs Halloween Ghost Trains on a few days around Halloween. All trains leave from Furnace Sidings Station.
Each journey lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes and includes a brief stop, as well as a wait at Garn-Yr Erw Halt, where The Whistle Inn and Park is. A ticket is valid for one round trip from Furnace Sidings; passengers may break their journey at the Whistle Inn Halt and come back on a later train.
The operator says the services are generally suitable for ages 5 and over, and that those who want a less scary experience should book the earlier departures. It runs on a first-come, first-served, pre-booking-only basis, because demand for tickets is high.

A short ghost train ride of 15 to 20 minutes with a brief stop and a wait at Garn-Yr Erw Halt. Generally suitable for ages 5 and over; the earlier departures are less scary. Black Mountain Coffee Cafe is open in the station building at Furnace Sidings.
