Advent Steam Trains — Preßnitztalbahn

The Preßnitztalbahn is a narrow-gauge museum railway in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) run by the Interessengemeinschaft Preßnitztalbahn. Its museum line runs between Jöhstadt and Steinbach and is 23 km long according to the operator.

In the weeks before Christmas the railway lists steam-hauled days on each Advent weekend as separate entries in its calendar of operating days. On its Advent page the operator describes the mood in the Erzgebirge at this time of year, with Christmas pyramids and Schwibbögen, and a festively decorated museum railway.

On the busier weekends the operator lists a two-train service, on others a single train. The calendar also lists a separate Nikolaus trip on a Friday, which requires advance registration.

The line stops at Jöhstadt, the vehicle hall, Schlössel, Loreleifelsen, Schmalzgrube, Forellenhof, Stollen, Wildbach and Steinbach.

Steam-hauled round trips on the Jöhstadt–Steinbach line. On the first-Advent Saturday the operator's timetable shows four departures in each direction, with a stop of about ten minutes at Schmalzgrube. Whether one or two trains run depends on the weekend; the operator marks this in its calendar.

The museum line runs between Jöhstadt and Steinbach. The operator's office is at Am Bahnhof 78, 09477 Jöhstadt. The operator gives single, return, day and family fares for adults and children aged 6 to 14. The Nikolaus trip is a special event with advance registration. The operator's page does not state a boarding station for visitors.
