About this event

The Neuse River Valley Model Railroad Club runs two annual model train shows in Raleigh, and this is the later one, held in the autumn. The club describes the series as the largest, longest-running model train series in North Carolina, and says it pulls vendors from everywhere east of the Mississippi and attendees from a 200-mile radius around Raleigh.

Most of the floor is given to vendor tables selling hats, shirts, tools, artwork, railroadiana, locomotives, buildings, cars, books and more, and the rest to several model layouts. In its latest listing the club describes 97,000 square feet of railroading with multiple layouts in different scales, and a Craftsman Showcase with its own flyer and entry form.

The annual shows are the club's main source of fundraising, through merchandise sold by the club and by the outside vendors who rent tables, and through public admission.

What to expect

A large hall of vendor tables with model railroading goods, several layouts in different scales and a craftsman showcase. A single admission covers both days, and children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult.
