About this event

Syd Fyenske Veteranjernbane (SFvJ) is a volunteer association that runs heritage trains on the railway between Faaborg and Korinth. Its Juletog, the Christmas train, runs on one weekend in December on the same two-hour timetable as the rest of the season.

The train leaves Faaborg station, reaches Korinth after half an hour and waits there for an hour before returning. At Korinth the operator says there is mulled wine, coffee and more for sale, which can be enjoyed in the warm waiting room while the train is shunted, and stalls selling Christmas items.

Korinth station also has indoor and outdoor seating, a small kiosk with ice cream and coffee, a playground and exercise equipment, and a turntable that is sometimes used to turn locomotives and carriages.

What to expect

A return trip from Faaborg to Korinth, half an hour each way with an hour at Korinth, in a heritage train that the operator says lets you experience rail travel as it was in the 1950s. Mulled wine, coffee and Christmas stalls at Korinth station, with seating indoors and out and a playground.
