About this event

The Haunted Trolley is a Halloween production presented in association with the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, Connecticut. Riders board an historic trolley with hosts who turn the evening into an interactive adventure, limited to 40 passengers per ride.

The producers describe the production as a pre-ride orientation and introduction to the plot followed by a 30 to 45 minute show that combines mystery, thrills, theater, audience participation and a heavy dose of comedy, with riders helping to decide the outcome. They stress that it is not an indoor or outdoor haunted attraction, a hayride or a trail in the woods: no zombies, clowns, masked monsters, chainsaws, loud music or actors chasing riders, and no hours-long lines.

What to expect

A pre-ride orientation and introduction to the plot, then an interactive 30 to 45 minute show aboard the trolley mixing mystery, thrills, theater, audience participation and comedy. Rides are timed, with only 40 riders per ride. All ages are welcome, and riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. A limited number of V.I.P. tickets give first boarding, a choice of seats and a souvenir logo shirt.

Practical info

Rides take place at the Shore Line Trolley Museum, 17 River Street, East Haven, Connecticut. Admission is by advance ticket only, with timed entries sold by the producers through a TicketLeap page that both the museum's website and the producers' own site link to. If you are late for your timed entry, the producers say they will try to place you on the next ride or an alternate time. No alcoholic beverages, drugs or weapons are permitted, and no masks or face coverings other than Halloween costumes. Discounted group rates for more than 10 riders are available by phone (203) 795-4737. The museum says its historic trolleys require two to three steps to board.
