Edinburgh Christmas Market — Steam Dreams

Steam Dreams runs this four-day trip from London to Edinburgh Waverley and back. The operator says the train is diesel or electric hauled from King's Cross to York, where the steam locomotive joins for the run to Edinburgh; on the return it is steam-hauled from Edinburgh to Carlisle, where the steam locomotive is replaced by a vintage diesel or electric one. The second day is in Edinburgh for the Christmas market and sights; on the third day passengers may stay at leisure or take an optional Forth Bridge lunchtime steam tour, bookable separately. Travel to Edinburgh on the first day, a day in the city, a day at leisure or on the optional Forth Bridge tour, and the journey back to London on the fourth.
