Mikulášské vláčky ve Frýdku-Místku — Slezský železniční spolek

The Slezský železniční spolek (Silesian Railway Society), a railway association based in Těrlicko, runs special "Mikulášské vláčky", St Nicholas trains, from the station in Frýdek-Místek. According to the society's booking calendar, each trip goes to Frýdlant nad Ostravicí and back and takes about 55 minutes.

On board, Mikuláš and his entourage walk through the train, and children who recite a poem or sing a song receive a small gift. The train is decorated with special lighting, and small refreshments for children and adults are available on board, brought round through the train. The society's accordion players ("heligonkáři") travel with the train and lead the singing of Christmas carols.

Boarding is possible only at Frýdek-Místek station, and the fare covers the journey there and back. Tickets are sold in advance through the society's online booking system. The same society runs similar decorated trains from other stations around Ostrava, Karviná and Frýdek-Místek as separate offers with their own dates and tickets.
