About this event

The Slezský železniční spolek (Silesian Railway Society), a railway association based in Těrlicko, runs "Vánoční vláčky", Christmas trains, from the old railway station of Karviná-město (Fryštát). According to the society's booking calendar, a specially decorated Christmas train runs along an old freight line from the Fryštát station to Petrovice u Karviné and back; a trip takes about half an hour.

At Karviná-město station the association Zachraňme Karvinské nádraží prepares a Christmas programme, according to the society. On board, the society's accordion players ("heligonkáři") lead the singing of Christmas carols.

Boarding is possible only at Karviná-město station, and the ticket covers the journey there and back. Tickets are sold in advance through the society's online booking system.
