About this event

Tweetsie Christmas® turns the Tweetsie Railroad park in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains into what the operator calls a Wild West Christmas town on select evenings. Each ticket includes one reserved, roughly 20-minute open-air Christmas train ride behind a historic steam locomotive, with thousands of twinkling lights and sing-along carols, plus four amusement rides, Santa's Gingerbread House, live entertainment and other nighttime holiday attractions.

Santa's Gingerbread House is a walk-through giant gingerbread house decorated with candies, where children can share their wishes and take photos with Santa. The festival also has a 20-minute musical stage show, and guests can roast s'mores by the fire, sip hot chocolate or buy homemade candies and fudge at the Fudge Shop; food, retail items and s'mores supplies are not included in the ticket.

For Tweetsie Christmas the park opens only on select evenings, and the operator says it is closed during the day and on Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
