About this event

The Walnut Creek Model Railroad Society operates the Diablo Valley Lines, which it describes as one of the most mountainous and one of the largest exclusively HO scale model railroads in the United States. The layout has standard gauge, narrow gauge and interurban (overhead electric) freight and trolley lines.

At its public shows the society invites visitors to view the permanent 34 by 56 foot layout, with about 4,300 feet of hand-laid track and more than 240 turnouts, in a purpose-built building designed and constructed by the club members. The layout is viewable from a 160 foot perimeter with several elevated viewing platforms.

The society's printed show schedule separates its regular public show days from a November holiday show. The society says all proceeds go to construction and maintenance of the railroad.
