We have not tested it ourselves: strengths and weaknesses below come from the tests cited.
The locomotive is an electric O gauge 0-8-0 with a RailSounds RC sound system covering steam chuffing, background sounds, whistle and bell, plus user-activated Mickey Mouse announcements, puffing smoke, an operating headlight, operating couplers and what Lionel calls a powerful maintenance-free motor. Lionel describes it as a Disney Christmas Ready-To-Run train set and presents it as a Christmas surprise for the home. The three cars carry Christmas names: a 'Tis the Season boxcar, a Season of Magic gondola with a tree and present load, and a Jingle Bell Fun caboose.
For the adult setting it up: the set contains eight curved O36 FasTrack sections, two 10-inch straight sections, a LionChief terminal section and a Plug-Expand-Play power lock-on section. Lionel lists the minimum curve as O31 and the set length as 45 inches, but the page does not state the footprint of the track or how long assembly takes. Power comes from a wall-pack supply. The locomotive is run by the included LionChief remote, a LionChief Universal Remote sold separately, or the Bluetooth LionChief app, and it has an on/off switch for the sound.
