A live camera run by ASAFEGI at their clubhouse — the former Fornells de la Selva railway station near Girona, Catalonia — facing south onto a line used by Rodalies commuter trains (RG1), R11 regional services, and Renfe/Transfesa freight.
About this cam
This camera is operated by ASAFEGI — the Associació d'Amics del Ferrocarril de les Comarques Gironines (Friends of the Railway of the Girona Regions) — and is mounted at the association's clubhouse, which the group's own website places at "l'antiga estació de ferrocarril de Fornells de la Selva" (the former Fornells de la Selva railway station), a few kilometres south of Girona. The camera faces south.
The operator lists "numerous train services, including Rodalies (RG1), regional and mid-distance trains (R11), and cargo trains from Renfe and Transfesa," with maintenance-of-way trains occasionally passing at night. ASAFEGI publishes exact timetables for the RG1 and R11 lines, and notes that freight on this stretch "usually runs between 18:00 and 1:00 the following day, with more trains on weekdays" — the operator's own claim, not a measurement.
ASAFEGI opens its clubhouse to the public on the second and fourth Sunday of each month (excluding July, August and Christmas), running a small heritage operation from 11 a.m., with free entry.
What to watch for
Rodalies RG1 commuter trains and R11 regional/medium-distance services by day, and — per the operator's own claim — Renfe/Transfesa freight "usually between 18:00 and 1:00 the following day, with more trains on weekdays." Maintenance-of-way trains can also appear overnight.
How busy is it?
"Cargo: No fixed schedule, but they usually run between 18:00 and 1:00 (local time) the following day, with more trains on weekdays." — ASAFEGI, video description, re-read 2026-09-16.
Traffic as described by the stream’s operator. Spotatrain has not counted the trains itself.
Best viewing times
Evenings and overnight for freight, per ASAFEGI's own claim ("usually between 18:00 and 1:00, more on weekdays"); daytime for Rodalies RG1 and R11 passenger services on their published timetable.
