Nijmegen — Station Works

ProRail states it is preparing the track and station at Nijmegen for the future with more room for trains and passengers and a more reliable timetable, including a new western entrance. The work is carried out jointly with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the municipality of Nijmegen, the province of Gelderland and NS, with contractor Dura Vermeer executing the works over four years (2024–2028).

Nijmegen sits on the Schiphol–Utrecht–Nijmegen corridor (PHS-SUN) of the national Programma Hoogfrequent Spoorvervoer (PHS), the Dutch programme to bring 10-minute train frequencies to the country's busiest routes. The scope includes a new island platform with canopy, a renewed and lengthened passenger tunnel, and new escalators and lifts.
