Manitou Springs, Colorado — Pikes Peak Cog Railway Depot

The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a rack (cog) railway climbing from its depot in Manitou Springs, Colorado, to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak. In summer the railway operates daily with departures roughly every 40 minutes; fall and winter run a condensed schedule, and the operator states the railway runs all year. The round trip takes about three hours in total: roughly one hour climbing to the summit, 40 minutes at the top, and about an hour and ten minutes back down to the depot.
