About this cam
Muizenberg Wave Watchers streams a wide-angle surf view of Muizenberg beach and the False Bay coast from above the village. At the foot of the frame the Cape Town suburban railway runs beside the coast road, on a rocky shoreline, with its overhead-line masts standing along the track.
This is a surf-conditions camera first: the channel describes a live webcam of Muizenberg for surfers (tags: surf, wave, Muizenberg, Surfers Corner), and a local surf guide places it above the Muizenberg heritage Posthuis building. The railway is not the subject, but it is clearly in the picture.
At the bottom of the frame a double-track railway with overhead-line masts hugs the shore beside the coast road, on the rocky stretch between the beach and the shoreline. This is the Cape Town to Simon's Town suburban line (Southern Line, operated by Metrorail), which here runs a few metres from the sea. The beach and the town stretch away to the left.
No train was in the frame that was checked; the line carries suburban services all day, so the view is worth keeping open for a few minutes.
