About this event

Santa's Lighted Forest is the Georgetown Loop Railroad's evening holiday train. The operator says that as night falls, the line becomes a holiday wonderland: more than 300,000 twinkling lights illuminate the station, the surrounding landscape and the forest beside the tracks.

The round trip lasts about an hour, according to the operator, and Santa joins every departure before Christmas. The operator presents it as an evening outing for families, couples and anyone who wants the season's magic.

The railroad sells four classes of service. Coach cars are fully enclosed with bench seating and no on-board service. Parlor, Executive (the Tahoe) and Presidential (the Waldorf) cars have booth seating at tables, with snacks, a non-alcoholic beverage, and beer, wine and holiday cocktails for sale. The operator says the Tahoe has larger windows than the Waldorf, which the booking page calls a great option for the best Lighted Forest views.

The railroad also runs a daytime holiday train, Santa's Rocky Mountain Adventure, from the same station; it is a separate product with its own tickets.
