About this event

The Leighton Buzzard Railway, run by the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway Society, runs its Mince Pie Specials in the days after Christmas Day. The operator calls it the perfect way to unwind after the excitement of the big day, with a post-Christmas steam train ride and one last festive treat before the new year.

On the final train of each day the railway runs an Elf on the Shelf send-off. Passengers bring their own Elf and tuck it in after the journey, using an elf-sized sleeping bag they bring or buy in the gift shop. Owners can take their resting Elf home, or fill in a magical label and leave it in Santa's care. The operator says every Elf left with it spends the coming year resting with Santa, and that it will get in touch when Santa returns the following year so the Elf can be collected.

Trains start from Page's Park station on Billington Road, on the south side of the town. The operator's online booking system sells tickets for a chosen departure.

What to expect

A post-Christmas steam train ride from Page's Park station and, on the final train of each day, a send-off for your Elf on the Shelf. Bring an elf-sized sleeping bag or buy one in the gift shop. Well-behaved dogs and assistance dogs travel free.

Practical info
