About this event

The Train Thur Doller Alsace, a volunteer-run preservation association, runs its Christmas train on the Cernay St André – Sentheim line. The operator describes decorated railcars used as shuttles between Burnhaupt and Sentheim, calling it the last train of its season.

From Burnhaupt passengers ride a heated railcar towards what the operator calls the Father Christmas station. On getting off they take part in a sound-and-light show inside the association's hall.

Outside there is a Christmas farm with animals, run by the Ferme du Klingsee, and a craft Christmas market, "Au P'tit Marché de Noël de la Gare de Sentheim", under a heated outdoor marquee. The operator lists chocolates, mulled wine, crêpes from L'Ecureuil gourmand and a sweet stand, with braziers for warmth.

What to expect

A shuttle ride between Burnhaupt-le-Haut and Sentheim in a decorated, heated railcar, then about 1 hour 30 of entertainment on site: the sound-and-light show in the hall, the Christmas farm and the craft market. The operator says the train runs even in bad weather and asks visitors to dress accordingly.
