About this event

The Newcastle & District Model Railway Society hosts the annual Tyneside Model Railway Exhibition at Jesmond Park Academy in Newcastle upon Tyne. The society was formed in 1970 and has clubrooms on the Denmark Street Industrial Estate in Byker, where its groups build layouts from N to O gauge and meet on Thursday evenings.

In its latest exhibition page the society says layouts on display cover all popular gauges and modelling periods, from pre-grouping and the big four to British Railways steam and the modern diesel era, and that layouts also represent the American and European railway scene. It lists a dozen layouts booked and says there is full trade support, covering retail sales, new and second-hand items and books.

The society describes full disabled access and free parking at the school, with overflow car parks signposted.

What to expect

Layouts in all the popular gauges covering British, American and European railways, with a full range of trade stands including new and second-hand items and books. The society's exhibition page lists the layouts booked.
