About this event

The York Railway Modellers club was formed in the spring of 1992 by a group of HO-scale model railroaders to build and operate a combined mainline and wayfreight layout, with emphasis on the prototype practices and operations of the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific railways in Southern Ontario in the golden age of steam. The club follows National Model Railroad Association standards and models the years 1953 to 1957.

The layout, which the club says is still under construction, covers more than 1,600 square feet (40 by 40 feet) and has around 11 HO-scale miles of mainline track, two major yards and eight wayfreight towns. Each yard has three industrial areas, and also a roundhouse, turntable and engine facilities. The single-track mainline runs from the CPR Lambton Yard in West Toronto to the CNR London Yard in London, with passing sidings in each town; each town is served by only one railway, divided evenly between CN and CP.

The club says it holds open houses in the spring and the fall.
