About this cam
A live view from the CN Tower, 350 metres above Toronto, looking east over the Union Station Rail Corridor: some ten parallel tracks cross the frame, with the ribbed glass roof of the Union Station train shed in the foreground and the downtown towers and Lake Ontario beyond. This is a city panorama in which the railway takes up a large part of the picture, not a camera aimed solely at the tracks.
EarthCam operates two cameras near the top of the CN Tower, 350 metres above Toronto; this is the "East View" (its companion, "West View", looks over the harbour and the western skyline). Observed live on 2026-09-05 (real playback, JS executed): in daylight the Union Station Rail Corridor crosses the whole width of the frame — about ten parallel tracks — with the ribbed glass roof of the Union Station train shed in the foreground and a train standing on the tracks, framed by the downtown towers and Lake Ontario.
The corridor is owned by Metrolinx and is the busiest passenger rail corridor in Canada, carrying GO Transit commuter trains, UP Express airport trains and VIA Rail intercity services. The Toronto Railway Museum, in the John Street Roundhouse at the foot of the tower, sits about 240 metres from the camera. The feed is free to watch without an account; a short pre-roll advertisement may play first.
What to watch for
GO Transit commuter trains, UP Express and VIA Rail services moving in and out of Union Station, with trains standing under the train shed roof; the evening rush hour is the busiest period on the corridor.
