About this cam
This static camera looks east along the BNSF Needles Subdivision from a platform at the historic Needles depot in Needles, California. It is hosted by the Needles Tourism Department and the City of Needles. The Needles Subdivision carries heavy BNSF transcontinental freight traffic, and Needles is a scheduled Amtrak stop for the Southwest Chief (trains #3/#4) between Los Angeles and Chicago. An integrated radio feed monitors the BNSF Needles road channel, 160.935 MHz (AAR 055), from Goffs, California through the Needles yard area.
Needles sits on the original BNSF Southern Transcon route through the Mojave Desert.
