Virtual Railfan's live cameras at Amherst are mounted at the **Nordson Depot**, a 1905 passenger station built by the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway (later New York Central) that served passengers until 1963. Nordson Corporation donated the building to the City of Amherst in 2021; it was restored and now houses senior activities, with Nordson Depot Park and playgrounds alongside. The City of Amherst hosts the cameras. The tracks below are Norfolk Southern's **Chicago Line at milepost 213**. The line opened in 1853 and was widened to four tracks by the LS&MS in the early 1900s under the "Water Level Route" name. It is double-tracked today, with modernised signalling and dispatching that lets Norfolk Southern move the same volume over two mains.
