Great Train Extravaganza — Albany, New York

The Great Train Extravaganza is presented by the Hudson-Berkshire Division of the National Model Railroad Association and described by its organizers as eastern New York's largest model railroad and toy train hobby show. It is held every year at the Empire State Convention Center at Empire State Plaza in Albany, on the first Sunday in December.

Dozens of vendors offer new and used trains, parts, clothing, memorabilia, photographs and accessories. Exhibitors show pieces of railroad history and artifacts, and the show has several operating model railroads in N, HO and O gauges, LEGO and larger scales. The organizer's page for a previous show also mentioned scale dioramas and two operating LEGO layouts.

The show takes place on the same day as the Taste NY Holiday Market at the Plaza and the Holiday Tree Lighting and Fireworks, which happens just after sunset.
