About this event

The Burlington County Model Railroad Club is an HO scale club based in the basement of the Burlington County Footlighters Playhouse in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. During its open house season the club welcomes the public to the Rancocas Valley Lines, an HO layout of about 1,800 square feet with more than 700 feet of mainline track, built over some 40 years by generations of club members.

The operator says the railroad runs through large cities, mountains and seaside ports while serving industries and towns along the route. The layout does not model a specific period or place, so visitors may see steam locomotives, Amtrak trains or even Thomas the Tank Engine. Children can pick up a scavenger hunt sheet to find hidden details on the layout.

Admission is free. The club says the construction and maintenance of the layout are funded mainly by visitors' donations, and it asks parents to bring a step stool so that small children can see the layout more easily.
