About this cam
This camera watches the platform at Reading & Northern's "Outer Station," a passenger facility built at Route 61 and Bellevue Avenue in Muhlenberg Township, a little over a mile from the site of the original Reading Railroad Outer Station (1874-1969). The railroad's excursion equipment, including a dome car, is regularly seen here.
Reading & Northern (formally the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad) opened its "Outer Station" passenger facility at Route 61 and Bellevue Avenue in Muhlenberg Township, just outside Reading, Pennsylvania — a little over a mile from where the original Reading Railroad's Outer Station once stood (built 1874, closed 1969). The site, formerly occupied by a mini-mall, now serves as a departure point for the railroad's excursion trains, including trips toward Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, about 60 miles away on the Reading & Northern main line.
