About this event

Mountain Rail West Virginia offers the Cass Halloween Train from the Cass Depot at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Cass, West Virginia. The steam train leaves the Cass Depot in the evening for Whittaker Station, a ride of about two hours in all.

At Whittaker, the operator says, guests can enjoy a campfire with hot chocolate, meet prominent ghosts from the past on a walk through the haunted cemetery to Whittaker Camp 1, an abandoned logging camp, and every child receives a bag of candy. Passengers are encouraged to wear costumes.

On the return to Cass the operator lists a Haunted Company House and movies and games at the Cass Community Center, offered by the Friends of Cass and the state park.

There are two restrooms on board (cars #8 and #3), and restrooms at Whittaker Station. Meals are not included, but concessions are sold at Whittaker.
