About this event

The Fright Train is Sky Railway's Halloween excursion from the Santa Fe Depot in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which the operator calls Santa Fe's famous Halloween train. It is an adults-only (18+) round trip of two to two and a half hours with live music. The operator promises an evening that reveals the true horrors of the Santa Fe desert after dark.

Guests are asked to dress in their best Halloween costume: each train has a costume contest with a prize for one winner, judged by onboard staff on creativity, effort and overall presentation. The adventure also features a DJ, Halloween-themed cocktails and haunted performances along the tracks. Each ticket includes a seat in an enclosed train car, a complimentary welcome champagne toast and live entertainment. The train has no depot stop, so riders stay on board for the whole ride.

On select nights the operator also hosts an official after party at partner bars in the Railyard, with a DJ, themed cocktails and a bar tab discount for those in costume.

What to expect

A two to two-and-a-half hour adults-only ride in enclosed cars with a champagne toast, live music, a DJ, Halloween-themed cocktails, a costume contest and haunted performances along the tracks. Additional snacks and drinks can be bought on board, and silent disco headphones can be rented for an extra charge. There is no stop at a depot during the ride. Outside food and drink are prohibited.

Practical info

The train departs from and returns to the Santa Fe Depot, 430 West Manhattan Avenue, Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the Railyard; the depot and tracks are beside Tomasita's Restaurant, whose private lot should not be used. The operator points to an underground parking structure and surface parking across the Railyard. Guests must be 18 or older. The operator warns that these trains will sell out. Tickets are sold on its FareHarbor booking page.
