About this event

The Greater Houston Train Show is the San Jacinto Model Railroad Club's annual show. The club says it is traditionally held once a year, on a Saturday in the winter, and features model and photo contests, operating layouts, clinics and vendors from all over the Southwest. The organiser's flyer for its latest edition lists operating layouts, classes, a National Model Railroad Association contest and vendors from across the Southwest.

The club's usual home for the show is the Pasadena Convention Center. For its latest edition the show moved to the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg, Texas, because of construction at the usual location, and the flyer marks it as a new location. The show is sponsored by the San Jacinto Model Railroad Club, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, which also runs a fall layout tour and meets monthly in Houston.

Vendors can reserve tables: the club says table sales open ahead of the show and its flyer names a sales chair to contact.
