A community-run camera at the Eastwood Street crossing in Houston's East End, installed by neighborhood volunteers to track Union Pacific trains blocking Harrisburg Boulevard on the Galveston Subdivision.
This camera watches the Eastwood Street grade crossing (FRA crossing 859522Y) on Union Pacific's Galveston Subdivision, in Houston's East End.
It was installed by the Eastwood Civic Association, a neighborhood organization, after residents grew frustrated with trains blocking the nine grade crossings in the area. The association says up to 16 trains a day head southbound from the Congress Yard toward Tower 85, and that parked trains regularly block Eastwood Street — the route children from across Harrisburg Boulevard use to walk to Lantrip Elementary School.
