About this event

The Lorain & West Virginia Railway, owned and operated by the Lake Shore Railway Association, runs its annual Santa Train from the Wellington Station in Wellington, Ohio. The operator invites visitors to its station and to board a seasonally decorated train for a short ride and a chance to visit Santa.

Children under 12 receive a bell. The ride lasts between 30 and 50 minutes and goes approximately 1.5 miles before backing up to the station. The railway describes its trains as run entirely by volunteers and its equipment as historic.

The association also runs other seasonal trains from the same station, including an Easter train and fall foliage and pumpkin trains; the Santa Train is a separate ticketed event with its own dates.
