About this event

Nora Bergslags Veteran-Jernväg (NBVJ) is the heritage railway in Bergslagen whose line runs from Nora to Järle and Ervalla. Its Tomtetåg takes passengers in Christmas-decorated carriages to Järle, where, as the operator puts it, Santa is waiting at the station.

On the way home the operator says its gnomes hand out Christmas gifts to small and big children. The operator's ticket shop describes the trip as starting from Nora and says that at Järle you can have a Christmas fika and, above all, meet Santa.

The Santa trains are sold as return tickets for a chosen departure from Nora. The operator notes that these trains have no numbered seats: once on board you choose any seat.

What to expect

A return trip from Nora to Järle in Christmas-decorated carriages. Santa waits at Järle station, where the operator's ticket shop says there is a Christmas fika; on the way home the gnomes give out gifts to small and big children.

Practical info

Trains normally leave from Nora railway station (Järnvägsgatan, Nora), about 200 metres from the square, Torget, where the operator suggests parking on busy days because parking next to the station is scarce. You can also board or alight at the other stations and stops; the best parking is at Järle and Pershyttan. Tickets are booked online in the operator's booking system, where a family ticket for two adults and up to two children is also sold. The trains have no numbered seats. Phone 076 565 1234.
