About this event

Ohsabanan is a 14.5 km long narrow-gauge railway east of Värnamo in Småland, run by the non-profit Ohs Bruks Järnvägs Museiförening. Its Tomtetåget is a steam-drawn Santa train that runs through the winter landscape from Ohs Bruk to Gimarp, where, the operator says, Santa himself lives and takes children's wish lists. The trip is a return journey.

After the meeting with Santa the association invites everyone to a train-side coffee break. Grilled sausage, freshly baked lussekatter, mulled wine, coffee and gingerbread are all included in the ticket price, together with a small Christmas present.

The operator limits each train to 100 places and says the train is back at Ohs Bruk about one and a half hours after departure. The operator also notes that diesel locomotives can replace the steam locomotives in case of breakdown or fire risk.
