About this event

Statfold Country Park, home of the Statfold Barn Railway, runs The Magical Santa Express as its Christmas event. Guests board the North Pole Express train, described by the operator as a beautifully lit steam train, from the Post Office area, ride to the "North Pole" and then spend time at their leisure on activities including Rudolph's Snack Hut, Mrs Claus' Bakery, cookie decorating, letter writing and Santa's Grotto.

After the grotto, children go to the Toy Shop to choose a present. The operator says the activities last about two hours and the train journey about 12 minutes. It describes the event as a family tradition for returning guests and lists photos from the previous year.

The event is billed on the operator's ticket portal as a charitable fundraising event.
